Welcome to YourFitnessPal. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the YourFitnessPal apps, website, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Each account is for a single person — sharing logins is not permitted. You're responsible for the activity that happens under your account, so keep your credentials confidential.
You'll provide accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that we reasonably suspect are fraudulent, or that have been inactive for an extended period (we'll notify you first).
The Service is currently offered free of charge. All features available in the apps are available without payment, without ads, and without an in-app purchase requirement. We may introduce paid plans in the future; if we do, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice before any feature you use today is moved behind a paywall.
You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You will not:
You retain ownership of everything you log — your meals, weights, workouts, notes, and photos. By using the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating the Service for you. We do not sell your logs. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
If you post in community areas, you grant a broader license to display that content to other members. You're responsible for what you post and you must follow our Community Guidelines.
The Service is provided for general informational and self-tracking purposes only. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting any new diet or exercise program, especially if you have or suspect a medical condition.
We aim for excellent uptime, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice when practical.
The Service, including its software, design, brand, and documentation, is owned by YourFitnessPal Inc. and protected by applicable IP laws. Your use of the Service does not transfer any of those rights.
You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from Settings. We can terminate or suspend access for violations of these Terms, with notice when practical, except where prompt action is required (e.g. safety, fraud).
To the maximum extent permitted by law, YourFitnessPal will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill arising out of your use of the Service.
Before filing a formal claim, you and we agree to attempt a good-faith resolution by emailing legal@yourfitnesspal.org with 60 days to negotiate. Where binding arbitration is permitted, disputes will be resolved by individual arbitration; class-action and jury-trial rights are waived where permitted. You can opt out of arbitration within 30 days of accepting these Terms by emailing the same address.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, except where superseded by mandatory local laws applicable to consumers.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes by email or in-app before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
